NY de Volunteer Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded in May 2002.

We believe that everyone has the power to change the world. Every small action leads to bigger accomplishments. We value diversity, and we treat all people with fairness, respect, and compassion with the goal to learn from one another.

History

2002-Present

  • 2002

    NYdV was formed

    Many Japanese people living in NYC began to look for opportunities to give back to the community after 9.11.01. New York de Volunteer was formed to mobilize the volunteers and facilitate these "first step" opportunities.

  • 2003

    Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization

    with Noriko Hino as a full-time executive director

  • 2007

    Began "Explore Japanese Culture After School Program"

    Introduced "EJC" to underserved community centers across NYC.

  • 2012

    Began "Global Leadership Program"

    Began accepting interns through "Global Leadership Program."
